The study had a pre-test-post-test design. Questionnaire outcomes were compared with a control group of teachers. WebWe find that upper-elementary teachers have substantive impacts on students’ self-reported attitudes and behaviors in addition to their math performance. We estimate that the variation in teacher effects on students’ self-efficacy in math and behavior in class is of similar magnitude to the variation in teacher effects on math test scores.
