WebDec 27, 2024 · I just did an eBay search for paintings on velvet and the most expensive on was priced at $6,500.. and original from Hawaii from the 60's.I can't post an image as it is a really, really good, detailed painting of a young woman. The 60's were a more liberated time on Hawaii. Most are the carpy ones for $35 or so. WebThe Baritone velvet is less expensive at $10.95ft, and comes in wider strips (60"), and is still very black and unreflective (99.5% absorption). I would make my own 2x4 rockwool panels, wrap them in velvet (use 3M spray glue), and figure out a way of mounting them to the ceiling. Spray them with fire retarding chemical treatment before mounting.
