I've even seen people … Web3 nov. 2012 · On the gun stock side, the CMP forums which I have done a lot of reading of today seem to lean towards 100% Tung Oil versus BLO because BLO treated stocks will swell in high humidity versus Tung Oil. While Tung Oil is a pain to apply, the recommendation is 50/50 with mineral spirits for the first two applications.

If it is soaked deep into the grain then too much wood will have to be sanded off to take it out with out leaving a dent in the stock.
