If the opposite happens, and you get an A+ in calc 1 and 2, but a C in calc 3, then might point to problems. If you got a few Cs in pure theory stuff and go into experiment, they may not … I’d also like to suggest that kids who are very bright often run into trouble in high school when they encounter the first class that is actually hard for them.
